About
Mary Ellen Borchers serves as UIC’s budget model redesign project director and has over 15 years of experience in higher education finance, planning and operations. She works closely with stakeholders from across campus to advance the redesign effort and provides support for special projects within Budget, Human Resources, and Financial Administration.
Before joining UIC in April 2022, Mary Ellen worked for Huron Consulting Group’s higher education division, Illinois Institute of Technology and Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. In her former roles, she was responsible for long-term financial planning, treasury functions, budget development and operations management.
